We request that side-by-side comparisons not be used by media publications and festivals as promotional images for the film. Within the trans community side-by-side comparisons can be a wonderful source of hope and inspiration. Unfortunately, outside the trans community they are often used to titillate cis audiences. The obsession with how trans bodies transgress the binary is one of the primary ways the trans experience is fetishisized. A Year in Transition does not want to participate in this trend.
